Instagram Takeover: Jake Lamphier of Born Wild Outdoors

Over the next few days, I’ll be handing over the reigns of the Pursuit to Plate Instagram account to Jake Lamphier of Born Wild Outdoors. Jake lives in Alaska with wife and two young daughters where he hunts, fishes and forages for some of the best wild food that North America has to offer.

“I moved to Alaska when I was 16 and was placed into one of the most rugged and amazing places to hunt and fish,” Jakes says. “As one that is drawn to a challenge, hunting quickly grew into an obsession that I gladly embrace.”

Today, Jake and his family obtain most of their food from the wild place that they call home. He and his wife also run a small business they call Born Wild Outdoors.

With Born Wild, they design t-shirts that showcase and promote the Alaskan backcountry lifestyle. Jake also shares his hard-earned knowledge—obtained through years of hunting and fishing in one of the world’s most rugged, wildlife-rich landscapes—on his blog bornwildoutdoors.com and an Instagram account of the same name.
